"We stayed a couple of week days and were allocated a lovely room in the annex. Bed was really comfortable and room was well decorated. Lovely quiet location. Food in the restaurant was excellent too. I recommend the hanging seafood kebab. We attended a family event in the on-site function room and this was well catered. One couple decided to stay the night even though they lived locally as there were already a number of us staying there for the family event. The last remaining room was a family suite (sitting room, two bedrooms and bathrooms, all self contained) which was really lovely as a group of us later stayed in the sitting room to chat for the remainder of the evening. I didn’t even know this hotel had a couple of family suites! We will definitely try to book this when we come up with our daughter next time. Staff all very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was great too. It even included mushrooms and hash browns which wasn’t included when we last stayed earlier in the year but that was over a weekend."

"Cleaning needs more attention. Insufficient pressure to hot water to shower or take a bath, very very disappointing. Sink tap has plenty off pressure for cold and hot water . Food served incomplete at the table with with mushrooms, scampi, onion rings and tartar sauce missing , waitress apologised but only scampi was brought to table in the end.... Three more tables around had same issue with missing food not what's been advertised on the menu. On a Tuesday evening it wasn't even busy and can't or don't want to serve all the food that has been ordered Expensive considering the quality and the missing food .. Breakfast was OK although no ground coffee just instant coffee"

Hollins Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf

"Hollins Hall has been a great and grand hotel in the past I think. Does it need a revamp? Absolutely! That said, the bed was comfy. It caters for the golfing fraternity mostly it seems. Where Hollins Hall isn't as grand as the name might imply, we do stay there often as it's close to family we visit. In the broad scheme of things it's fine if you need a comfy bed for the night and it's very good value for money. The staff are friendly and helpful, the room was clean ( we had an accessible room - the toilet was too low with someone with mobility issues) the shower was fab and the bar on 2nd floor was nice and serves food until 9.30pm. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on the food quality."

Broadfield Park Hotel Rochdale

"I don't usually write negative hotel reviews, especially after a one-night stay, but after spending four nights at Broadfield Park Hotel in Rochdale, I feel it's important to share my experience. My husband and I were initially given a room with a very odd layout, where the TV was positioned away from the bed, making it uncomfortable to watch. Reception advised us to return the next morning, and to their credit, we were offered a choice of alternative rooms. Unfortunately, the second room had extremely poor shower pressure throughout our stay, with the water sometimes coming out in little more than droplets. Despite reporting the issue, it continued. Housekeeping was virtually non-existent. During our four-night stay, our towels were never changed, the bed was never made, the bin was never emptied, and toiletries and toilet roll were not replenished. The mattresses in both rooms were very worn and uncomfortable, leaving both of us with aches and pains. The hotel feels dated and in need of refurbishment and, in my opinion, does not meet the standard expected of a three-star hotel. There were also occasions when reception was unattended. At one point, I had to find a member of staff elsewhere in the hotel to locate the receptionist, while another guest was waiting to check out. The only positives were the convenient location, free parking, and an acceptable breakfast with a halal option available."
