"Amazing views and walks around the hotel. Basic room in need of modernisation. Beds were very comfortable. No curtains or blinds on the window! Toilet was broken on arrival but was fixed within the hour and offered a drink on the house which is nice. Staff very helpful and friendly. You can see the property is undergoing some work so understandable."

"We stayed only 1 overnight on the way down from scotland. We could see lot of people staying for visiting the lakes. The hotel is in a very nice location. They are also pet friendly and they provided us a towel and a bowl for the dog. We highly recommend both breakfast and set menù dinner which was very nice. Room was clean and bathroom looked recently renewed."

"The room was neat and tidy yet very little space for a double room, more like a single room. Some staff were more conscientious than others at breakfast time. The menu was more akin to a good pub rather than a nice hotel. The setting was superb but the property was undergoing refurbishment which spoilt it a bit."

"Zero communication between Victorian House and Expedia, they had no idea I'd booked a TWIN ROOM despite it clearly being the case on the Expedia reservation. I actually would surmise that Victorian House staff just don't look at the reservation details from Expedia? I had walked 15 miles that day and was blamed for not having contacted Victorian House and requesting a twin room (newsflash: I don't need to do that, it says on my booking that I have a twin room reserved). I didn't really like that...

"Lovely property, well positioned for visiting places nearby. Parking on site was spacious and well maintained. Pub next door was great and the food good. Communication with the owners was excellent and responses were very quick and helpful. The room (no. 14) was spotless and smelled wonderful as did the whole property! "Amazing location and amazing hotel. We loved our stay however it could do with some refurbishment. It is a dog friendly place so maybe could do with a deep clean in the restaurant area. The food was good but all the dog hair everywhere was a bit unpleasant. However we would still come back."

"Not really disability friendly, few grab handles in the shower, very small lowdown fridge requiring almost hands and knees to see contents. Two separate lifts placed side by side at one side of the building ( why ? ) Very limited access for Rollator, walker users although staff do their best to help. Very large and comfortable bed, great flat screen telly with good reception no aircon in room but decent fan supplied for hot weather. food ok and good level of cleanliness. Would go again...

"A classic 18 century coaching in with Ultra modern facilities and Michelin level food the staff are really helpful and can’t do too much for us helping us tune our TV to ensure that we had ability to watch the World Cup games. The food is a different level to coaching and could be a Michelin star restaurant the court outstanding and the quantity very generous. I would highly recommend this coaching in the Brown horse for either stay or a meal either way you’ll enjoy yourself. I’ll probably keep...
