"I love this hotel and how central it is to everything. It is usually my preferred spot in Portland. This time around, though, there were some issues with the room amenities that no one seemed to be that concerned with fixing. One of the plugs on the bedside lamp was in dire need of replacing, would not hold any power adapter. Neither would the bathroom plug, had to hold the very old and underpowered hair dryer in with one hand in order for it to make contact. The hair dryers should also be...

"Very enjoyable stay at the Benson. Staff was super friendly, and the room was comfortable, well appointed, and clean. My only "negative" is that the disabled friendly (no steps) entrance was almost always locked from the outside, even during the day. This was a minor inconvenience for me, as I am mostly mobile, but would have been a major one were I in a wheelchair. Otherwise, it is a fabulous hotel and I would absolutely stay again!"

"There are a lot of older, historic-feeling hotels in downtown Portland and this one is pretty mid. The room I had was large but outdated in a non-charming way. The breakfast option was nice, but not complimentary. "

"Was under construction, which meant the restaurant hours were effected by this and also in room dining. Not a luxury experience at all having to pay a resort fee seemed totally unnecessary I’d say considering. Won’t be giving this property another try which is a same as it’s a very historic Portland location but under new ownership and has lost all of its magic. "
