"Beautiful old property but faded grandeur meant it needs a bit of TLC. Our room and bathroom including sheets and towels were very clean but the carpet was stained the radiator was caked in debris and the cupboard needed a clean. The bathroom looked recently updated and was nice. Amazing views from the rear of the hotel. Good parking and convenient for Bradford on Avon and a short journey to Longlete."

"A traditional hotel stay in a great location in Birdlip, right next to the Cotswold Way. There is a really pleasant walk direct from the car park around fields or through some woodland next to the Cotswold way that offers incredible views towards Gloucester. The room itself was fine, with some aspects requiring some modernisation, as some areas around the property could do with some maintenance and a refresh. However, I always like to stay here as the food is good and staff friendly enough. Overall recommended."

"Nice little find…. Greeted by lovely staff. Room clean and nicely decorated, looked out to a magnificent view. Impressed with the bar and conservatory and again the view. Had a long journey so we decided to eat a evening meal at the hotel. Was not disappointed, the food was superb. Enjoyed the pool, steam room and sauna the following day. Very clean, could not fault. Left the hotel feeling very satisfied with our choice and would love to return again. Ideal area if you want to visit the ‘Clarkson Empire’ and Cotswolds."

"Check-in was good, staff member was pleasant and the room was well presented. Unfortunately the room stank of cigarette smoke and we couldn't be moved to another room. Before I would stay here again I would insist that the room was a non-smoking room, it was truly unpleasant. Nice and simple continental breakfast in a lovely breakfast room with views over the river."

"If hosting an event or wedding this place is probably fine but when you are a tourist it is miles from everything. This hotel is completely rural, you cannot walk to any pubs or restaurants, the town is a 12-15 drive. Staff are great, zero complaints. It is a bar area amd restaurant but the bar lacks charm and atmosphere. Plenty of parking. The rooms are fine but dated and the hotel does not have a lift. If you are planning to tour the general area as a tourist i recommend something closer to town where there is more to do around you"
