The cottage I stayed in the first night is tastefully decorated,cozy, overlooking beautiful scenery.We were upgraded to the Webb house second night, we did not want to leave! Georgeous interior, hugh wood burning fireplace, floor to ceiling windows in living room.

Lovely Inn

We had a great experience. We stayed from Saturday May 26th to Tuesday May 29th. It?s close to downtown if you wanna see the attractions in the city but also close to the National Park and it?s so quite and quaint that I can?t imaging someone not liking it. Perfect for a retreat! There are no vegan options for dinner; that what I was told when I tried to book for last Sunday at the time I made the reservation. At first I was told that it was possible but when I actually booked I was told they won?t be able to satisfy my dietary needs, which is totally fine. However that is the only reason I gave it a 3 in the dining experience since I couldn?t have dinner there for that reason not because it?s bad. I did have breakfast and for what I heard for meet eaters it?s outstanding. Any vegetarian dish (which they do offer) can be easily made vegan but apart from that they deserve a 5. There are vegan friendly options for breakfast (oatmeal, whole wheat bread toast without butter and muesli if you have your own milk like I did, btw that?s I sooo good). The staff it?s really amazing. The views, the tranquility and the place itself, with French and antiques touches, are the best of the Buckhorn. Also there is a veggie garden and bee hives which I think is fenomenal. We would love to be back!

What’s not to like?

Great experience from check in to check out. Food and accommodations were both outstanding. Wonderfully quiet and relaxing. Saw wildflowers and wildlife on the private nature trail. Great alternative to the carnival atmosphere of many nearby properties. Looking forward to a return visit soon.

Beautiful place with views and fabulous breakfasts

We loved the Buckhorn Inn and plan to go back many times. It's truly a special place, and has a very romantic feel. Stay in one of the cabins, if they are available..

A wonderful hideaway in the mountains

This was our first stay at the buckhorn inn and we absolutely loved it!!! So charming, friendly staff and the food is incredible. The rooms are a bit outdated but comfortable. Would highly recommend for a little weekend getaway! Quiet and quaint.

Comfortable, clean and quiet retreat

The Buckhorn Inn provides a beautiful view of the mountains. The guest rooms are comfortable and quiet. The food and service is outstanding and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

`A SMOKEY MOUNTAIN RETREAT

The Buckhorn is open year round and provides many choices of accommodations depending on party size. Most rooms have a spectacular view of LeConte in the near distance. The grounds include a pond, gardens, and wooded areas reflecting the care of the owners. This is our home away from home and we have visited 2-3 times a year for 20 years. Why? Warmth of reception, fine cuisine, excellent service in a rural setting.

Exceptional experiences at the Buckhorn Inn

We have visited and stayed at the Buckhorn Inn multiple times over the past 15 plus years. John and Lee Mellor and their staff have always provided us with a 5 star quality experience as far as Inn accommodations, hospitality, and wonderful breakfast and evening dining in the inn' s beautiful and romantic dining room. We have stayed at B&B's and Inns all over the country - The Buckhorn Inn is at the top of our list of favorites, and we look forward to our upcoming 3 night visit in less than 3 weeks. Benchmark

Recently, I realized that the Buckhorn Inn in Gatlinburg, TN, is my benchmark. While planning a several week getaway that will begin with a few days at the Buckhorn it was hard to find anything in a similar price range that compared to the Buckhorn! First, there is always a warm welcome from every member of the staff; and they go beyond any reasonable expectation to help in emergencies. Then there is the million dollar view of Mt. LeConte, and the quiet surroundings. Work stress just melts away. Each room is different and beautifully decorated; our favorite has a private balcony and a jetted tub. However, this trip I'm looking forward to staying in the same room we had for our first visit over 30 years ago. It's that kind of place; no matter where else we travel, we always get back to the Buckhorn at least twice each year. Breakfast is included in the very reasonable room prices and is always so good with such delicious choices - like Bananas Foster french toast and Eggs Benedict. Dinner is also available and is equally good, four delicious courses beginning with wonderful soups and ending with desserts that are worth the calories. And it's so nice to walk just a few steps from one of the living rooms where we've been reading or chatting with other guests to the dining room. When weather permits, the back porch is our favorite spot - just perfect.

Home away from Home

I have been a return visitor to Buckhorn Inn for at least 10 years. It is a quiet, peaceful, restful place to get away. There are trails to walk, gardens, places to sit and watch the birds. The food is very good. My favorite is breakfast. The staff and Inn keepers go out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home. Kathy Smart

Buckhorn is the Best

My wife and I are regular visitors at the Buckhorn. You cannot beat the view, the warmth and kindness of Lee, John and the staff, and the proximity to the Smokies for hiking. The food is exceptional too. Truly a unique and historic inn. We recommend it totally.

Beautiful Accommodations, Excellent Service

My family has been visiting the Buckhorn annually for over a decade. We look forward to our visit every year! We have stayed in both houses and cottages on the inn property. Mountain views from the Buckhorn are among the best in the area, and we enjoy nature walks around the property as well as easy access into the national park (particularly the Greeenbrier entrance). Service has always been excellent, and meals (both breakfast and dinner) are among the best I've ever enjoyed.

Absolute Delight at The Buckhorn Inn

My husband and I have had many visits to The Buckhorn Inn since we discovered it five years ago. It is absolutely wonderful in every way: comfort, beauty, service, ambiance, and the food is a gourmet delight. Everyone there, from the innkeepers to each and every staff member, makes each guest feel special and pampered. There aren't enough grand words to convey just how great it is; we look forward to every visit we have there and already have reservations for multiple times this year.

Home away from Home

The Buckhorn Inn has become our favorite vacation destination, after discovering it in the early 90?s. Whether it is for a weekend or for the entire week, we always look forward to the friendly and caring attitude of the staff, which makes us feel welcome and a part of the family. The food is outstanding with gourmet breakfasts and dinners (dinners are not included in the price of the room, but are available each evening with reservations). Afternoon treats include teas and coffees accompanied by delectable brownies or cookies. The setting is restful and restoring. The proprietors, John and Lee, are delightful, greeting each guest by name at breakfast, and making each feel special and appreciated. Over the years, we have been able to visit the Inn in every month, enjoying the unique gifts each season offers. We have stayed in rooms in the Inn proper, as well as in the cottages and houses exterior to the Inn itself, and have found all to be beautifully appointed and well maintained. They are competitively priced with surrounding accommodations. The grounds are charmingly kept, allowing guests to commune with the outdoors either by exploring the Nature Trail walking the Labyrinth. We have brought numerous friends and family members over the years, and can think of no other place we would rather share with them. Our only regret is that as the Buckhorn Inn has grown in popularity, it requires greater planning on our part to insure a room is available when we wish to visit. The Most Peaceful Place On Earth

Since discovering the Buckhorn Inn in 2005; my wife and I have stayed there well over a dozen times. We have stayed in both the cabins and the main lodge. Each time we visit our experience is like visiting it for the first time all over again. The rooms make you feel like you're home. The service is always the very best. The food is as elegant and exceptionally prepared as in any restaurant in Paris. Because it feels like home; the innkeepers John and Lee have become family to us and we hurt a little bit each time we have to say goodbye. Most of all in this world of electronics and noise - the Buckhorn is the most relaxing and quietest place on earth -surrounded by beauty and peace.

Our Favorite home away from home for the past 17 years

Our next visit to the Buckhorn will be our 40th, which more than anything indicates how much we treasure our visits there. The pleasantness of all the staff, the wonderful interactions with Lee and John as the Innkeepers, the excellent quality of the breakfasts and dinners, the serenity of the acreage for walking the peaceful nature trail and surrounding roads, and their hot chocolate and ice tea room and cottage specials at different times of the year all make for us to desire visiting even more. The location is nicely distant from Gatinburg, but still only 10 minutes away if desired. Getting to the Buckhorn can completely bypass going thru Gatlnburg and Pigeon Forge. The Gatlinburg Recreation Center and Library are within a five minute drive, and entrance to a wonderful part of the Great Smoky Mtns about four minutes away. If you are looking for a perfect getaway for one day, or one week, we know you won't be disappointed.
