"Stunning house in a lovely area! The bedrooms were roomy and comfortable each with a bathroom. Living spaces were a good size and nicely furnished. The communication before from Stef and Nikki was exceptional and we were provided with lots of info to make our stay more enjoyable. Hot tub overlooking the river was a nice touch. "It was odd to enter a hotel and find a child playing computer games on reception. The lovely Italian gentleman soon appeared and checked us in and took us to our room. He was very helpful and welcoming. We went straight down to dinner and were sat at a lovely table by the window overlooking the river. The chairs were completely shot with no seat support at all. I had to get a cushion to sit on but it wasn't much help. The menu was amazing and the food was fantastic. Unfortunately there's no blackout blinds or curtains. When we looked at the curtains they have black mould along the bottom of the lining. There's lights outside that shine up at the hotel however they also shine into the room at the side of the curtains so even during hours of darkness the room isn't dark. Once you get to 5am the room is flooded with light. The mattress has seen better days and offered no support. Our sleep therefore was very poor each of the two nights we stayed. The decor is lovely and it's obvious the owner has a good business, some excellent staff and a fantastic chef, but if you have had a poor night's sleep in a hotel it's difficult to score it very highly as sleep is the point of a hotel. The breakfast was excellent however the breakfast waitress, although clearly extremely capable and efficient, was somewhat brisk. The second morning when waiting to be seated for breakfast we were ignored by the bar staff who went to serve some locals who arrived after us. The new lady was excellent."

"We were warmly welcomed, and even though we had arrived just as they were preparing to close the restaurant, they kept a table for us, and as it happens, some other latecomers. The food was freshly prepared, and worth the wait. In the morning the courtesy continued, attentive without being overbearing. Setting was good too. Highly recommended."

"Parking is good, the room was spacious, but a little bit tired tbh. The breakfast is supplied in your room (cereal etc). The most disappointing aspect was the evening meal. I had fish and chips, I ordered it and it appeared literally within a minute. The fish was not fresh, the chips were not twice fried homemade as per the menu, but frozen chips and the peas were dry, I left most of it. I told the waiter and was just told that he would feedback to the kitchen."

"We had a lovely time at the Pheasant Hotel, the staff were very hard working, could not do any more to make our stay relaxing, happy smiling staff, the hotel was on a country lane so very quite, food was delicious ,room was good, quiet, view was just of the grass bank, but we were only in the room to sleep. In a good position to explore all of the coast line, which was just beautiful .We would happily go back to this hotel."

"Room was fabulous and clean. Staff were helpful. Lack of accessible mirror with good lighting in the bathroom meant putting in contact lenses was impossible. Breakfast was disappointing. When taken to our table one of the saucers had drips of tea all over it and when collecting our food a few of the ‘clean’ plates were not clean. Food was nothing special, no better than Premier inn. To be fair we didn’t order off the separate menu. Attention to detail at breakfast was a bit lacking for a high caliber hotel."

"The public areas of the hotel are well maintained, however, the family room that we stayed in had mould on the windows and filthy net curtains. My daughter and I cleaned the bottom of the windows in order to open them to let in some fresh air. The general appearance of the room was very tired and worn, but the beds were clean. The service was generally quite slow especially in the dining room and bar. The pool areas were generally clean, but again looked in need of a bit of updating. Pool side furniture was rather worn and tired. The amenities were good and the general appearance is fine. We would go again, but possibly request a better/different room? The position of the property is great, close to Norwich and the Norfolk Broads."
