"Absolutely stunning place, that actually used to be owned by my family member, of whom I'm the last surviving one here, and I had no idea! I knew he was a well off local businessman, who I met lots as a little one in but I lost both of my parents so didn't get to know this, plus a previous generation fallout meant Set in such a beautiful setting, and really quiet.
We were here over the hot bank holiday and it was very busy, but still really quiet which we were shocked about. Room was clean and bathroom was nice, only issue is our 'double' bed was actually two twins pushed together, of different heights, so my partner and I were rather uncomfortable,"
"The hotel in general was very good. Just personally, we had a few issues
Our main issue is that the hotel. It's so big with long hallways and lots of steps, considering we have a child in a Pram and lots of luggage it was so exhausting to carry everything from the car park to walk across to the hotel. And then find your room.
Its hell of a long walk with steps.
When we arrived, they gave us a room on the top floor with loads of steps, and the windows barely opened. So we complained and changed the room. But the problem were, the lifts wasn't working? So we had to carry the baby. The luggage and the Pram up-and-down the stairs. It was so exhausting and very, very far to walk to the car park when we were leaving
I would say it's not toddler friendly, so any parents with buggies not recommended
The stuff are very helpful and friendly. Everything was okay.
The rooms was clean
The pool was very nice, considering they close early which we wasn't impressed with it
The food menu on the bar was limited
I hope it helps some parents"
"We had a really lovely stay at voco Leicester. The hotel was welcoming, comfortable and genuinely dog friendly, which made such a difference when travelling with our third family member. Both my son and I really enjoyed our stay, and the atmosphere was warm, relaxed and family-friendly.
The staff were very helpful, the hotel itself was clean and stylish, and it was a great base for our visit. It is always a relief to find somewhere that makes furry family members feel welcome rather than like an inconvenience. Including at meal times. When we ate our dog ate; from scrambled egg for breakfast to freshly grilled chicken breast in the evening. The food tasted great and was very good value for money in terms of portion size and our pup would agree. My son and I throroughly enjoyed the mocktail menu!
The only downside was that we had expected there to be a gym and pool, as advertised, but unfortunately these facilities were not available. That was disappointing, especially as it had formed part of why we chose the hotel and due to the very hit weather the pool would have been an exceptionally welcome addition.
Overall, though, we had a positive experience and would happily stay again, particularly because of how dog friendly and comfortable it was."
"We stayed one night before our early morning flight. Located within walking distance to airport. Clean and comfortable room. Would definitely stay again."
"Our stay was fine, and it was great to stay in a hotel with a pool. The location was good and easy to find.
The staff were pleasant but perhaps not as knowledgeable or skilled as they should be- eg didn’t know what was on the children’s menu )they didn’t have any printed) and then brought her a different dinner, having to repeat our orders as they had forgotten. Male staff in the gym could have been more polite. On both days there were no towels available and it seemed to put them out that they had to find us some.
Plenty of parking but this is charged at £10 a night, which for a private car park for the hotel seems a lot to charge guests.
Our room was fine, but the adjoining family room didn’t have any drawers or wardrobes (spare bedding in drawers) and no light but a lamp in the corner. The air con controls were set in both rooms and couldn’t be changed, but were very noisy when they fired up- enough to wake you.
pool good, although decor could do with updating as is tired, not many keys available for the lockers. Sauna and steam was good.
Jacuzzi was just an adjoining circle to the pool with bubbles, rather than a hot tub.
Food was decent;dinner menu better than quality and range available for breakfast. Eggs other than scrambled had to be ordered when a waiter/chef was available. No mushrooms, sausages and bacon were ok but not particularly tasty. No pancakes or fresh bread other than presliced for toast. Coffee from a machine was fine. Ok but not a great Hilton"
"Great location to get to our evening venue. Parking was a short walk away and very reasonably priced.
Check in was easy and pleasant staff.
We booked a big double room and was very impressed with everything. It wasn't noisy overnight. Breakfast was very comprehensive and great selection.
Thank you for a great visit."
"Had an adequate but underwhelming stay here over the bank holiday weekend. 3 weddings in 2 days made for a busy hotel. Rooms in need of some TLC. The cleaner hadn’t cleaned the toilet properly before we checked in & we were met by someone else’s poo stains. Took 45 mins for room service to bring us some ice. Food in restaurant was mixed - risotto was amazing, burger very basic - and service was slow. Bar area looks into the area where the weddings are held, so no nice relaxing views. Nothing luxurious about this hotel. Won’t be back."
