We chose Glendale because we were going to Universal studios and all of the reviews and recommendations we got were unanimous that Glendale is a nice/safe oasis in areas that aren't so safe.

Was nervous coming from our of state hearing about the homeless issues in California, but where we were in Glendale seemed very clean and safe and we did not really see any of that until we went more into Hollywood area. It was a very nice surprise!

I actually liked the city vibe. At least the areas I saw. There were a lot of cute old houses. The areas we visited seemed pretty safe and clean. Very few homeless tents compared to LA.

Nice quiet area and convenient for Universal Studios visit. Since it was so close to Christmas, traffic for the two malls was incredibly busy.

Had gleaming parts downtown but motel area was a little worse for wear but also appeared pretty safe.
