"Amazingly peaceful property to get away and relax. The surrounding city only has one or two restaurants open depending on the day, but it always has something. And just chilling on the LouBird patio with a drink and a book is where its at."

"This is an older but oh so cute motel. Very clean! Very western. The on site guy was really very helpful with check in and answering any questions. The bed was so comfy. Great location. I will be back!"

"This is a very comfortable place from which to explore a very special landscape. The larger rooms we've always booked (this was my third time over 25 years) are comfortably furnished - think very oversized motel rooms with one king and one queen bed, a reclining chair, a table, and access to an outside (shared) terrace or balcony with a pair of comfy chairs over which you can gaze out to the spacious grounds and glimpses of the extraordinary landscapes just beyond. It would be nice to have screened, operable windows to take advantage of the evening air and silence the hum of the air-conditioning in temperate seasons. A nice unusual touch is a washing service - give the front desk a load and pick it up later the same day for a modest fee. Food five nights a week is available in the main dining room. It's the best restaurant for hundreds of miles in any direction, based on my own travels and the assessments of may guides and websites. For other meals and other days there's a friendly food truck with picnic tables. Menu choices are limited. Coffees are good. The oatmeal-molasses toast that accompanies eggs is great. Our eggs were too salty, though."

"The property was very clean and comfortable. The rooms were nicely decorated and fairly large. There is not any staff on the property; the check-in is all online. We got through it ok, but had to help another couple that were from Spain. We called the help number and was able to get them checked in."
