"I booked a hotel for travel from May 29- June 2 to Yakima, WA on May 27, 2026 with Hotels.com for a Hilton Garden Inn downtown Yakima at $132 + tax a night. My hotel was switched to an Americas Best Value Inn at $198.96 + tax a night, with terrible parking and a much lower standard then Hilton.
I was unaware of the Bait-and-Switch until I pulled up my reservation in my email after my plane had landed in Seattle. By the time I reached Yakima, WA at 0200 it was far too late to change or correct my reservation. I booked a new room for the following days with the Hiton Garden Inn directly from their website, as I could no longer trust Hotels.com to do the right thing. Although I did not stay but one (1) night at American Best Value, I was charged the full price of $795 + tax per night for 4 nights. American Best Value refused to refund the nights that I was not at the hotel.
The parking at the Americas Best Value was absolutely terrible and not well thought out.
I was traveling with a cane due to a recent brain surgery, and I had to park a block away from my room. There were no spaces available, nor any handicap parking near the room. The hotel should mark the spaces in front on the rooms with a corresponding number so that there is only one space per room and all rooms would have a designated space."
"My biggest concern was no refrigerator, diabetics need to keep their insulin cold so we had to use the ice bucket and change out the melted ice frequently. Also the beds are extra firm and pillows are just a little uncomfortable as they are super thick. They're definitely good when you wanna sit up to watch TV, but to sleep with it hurts your neck. It otherwise it's Avery clean place, food is good and staff is polite."
""Meh" is the best way I can describe my stay here. I was placed along the outside north face of the building. I later learned that's where all of the smokers and people with dogs stay. While convenient because can park your car directly right in front of the room it is the noisiest area possible."
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Prosser - Yakima Valley Wine by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Getting into the property is a bit of a nightmare. You have to go into the neighboring gas station to cut across to the hotel parking lot which is confusing. Aside from that our stay was great, room was nice and clean and staff was friendly and helpful."
"I booked through Expedia. My card was charged twice. We arrived at 3am EXHAUSTED and the nearest open rooms were around 20 miles away. When I went to check in and I told them my name for the reservation the staff looked at each and said that room wasn't clean. They then proceeded to tell me about how short staffed they were and the one was on more than a double shift at that point. So my family and I were without a room and our funds were locked up with my card having 2 room charges on it. Needless to say we were not happy."
"The owners are rebranding to the Gard. We stayed in the Lewis & Clark room. We arrived after hours, but were given access codes. All the rooms are on the 2nd floor, which you have to use metal stairs on the outside of the building to access (if you arrive/depart when the winery is open, there are inside stairs that you can use instead). There is no parking near the stairs, so be prepared. There are snacks and ice available for all in the entrance hallway. I was surprised how close to the highway the building is but the noise wasn't bad on the balcony, and pretty nonexistent in the room. The room had a view of Mt Hood and the Yakima River below, where we could watch white pelicans. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated and had a gas fireplace and sofa with a lounge. The toilet/shower was a separate room from the room that had double sinks, keurig coffee maker and refrigerator. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. Our 3 night stay was great and I highly recommend that if you're in the Prosser area you stay here. If I return to the area we will stay here again."
"A lot of varieties for the breakfast. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean. Great view. Air conditioner is quiet. Pool is small but great for a dip and then into the jacuzzi.
Only problem was the occupants upstairs letting the kids run wild across the floor into the wee hours of the morning. When a member of our party contacted the front desk, they notified the party to keep the noise down. "
