"The property is very spread out and although the parking area is large, there's apparently only limited places to park. The stairs up to our room are in need of maintenance and neither keys worked. Had to get back in the car to drive to the office to get new ones, then only one key worked. The room was nice but overpriced. Breakfast was decent but the egg discs were luke warm andfood ran out quickly. I noticed something on my front windshield, it was a parking ticket stating that my parking pass wasn't visible...funny because the ticket was put right over it. I took pictures and am complaining to the city. There were 4 others that were also ticketed. Ridiculous and unwelcome."
Lloyd Hotel Astoria Bayfront, an Ascend Collection Hotel
6/10 Okay
"Well, the room was clean and the staff was average in greeting. The breakfast was late and then when the hot breakfast came out my partner made a plate and after taking a few bites, he noticed ants on his plate in his gravy. He told the front desk and they said thank you and that was all. No apology or anything. Disappointed to say the least. For the price of the room, not acceptable."
Best Western Columbia River Waterfront Hotel Astoria
10/10 Excellent
"The building was older, but well kept. The hostess was fantastic. The location was great. The Sea Lions on the river can be a bit noisy, so if you are not into that type of atmosphere you might reconsider. We enjoyed the ambiance."
"It was okay overall—bed was a bit lumpy and cleanliness was probably a 3/10. The biggest plus was the location, since it’s within walking distance to a lot. It looks like they’re in the middle of remodeling; we got a side with some newer updates, but it still wasn’t great. For just one night though, it did the job."
"Everything was pretty good. I would advise not being late for breakfast. Even showing up at 9:55 a.m. is not advised. Also, the TV situation was a little jinky. There was a guide button, but when you called up the guide on the screen, it just showed the channel numbers, not any show information. I wish they had a smart TV we could connect to a streaming app such as Netflix, Hulu, or Pluto..."
