"Location of the Hi Chicago Hostel was great!"

"While I was searching for places to stay in Chicago, this location kept coming up. I never stayed at a hostel before, my husband and I enjoyed our stay. We were able to dialogue with people there something that really doesn't happen if you're staying in a hotel it really is a community atmosphere. My husband was stating that he wished there was an air fryer. A microwave was provided, but an air fryer in our opinion does so much better if one could be placed in the common area, for the most...

"Walls are basically curtains. Weird offset slats on the tops of the walls by the room so you can see light from the other rooms and hear EVERYTHING. Hearing the person in the next room toss and turn in bed. Some degenerate left baby batter in one of the toilets."

"The hostel is situated in a residential area. Parking is available on a residential street. The check-in process with Travis was easy. Minor issue when showing me to my private room as someone else had the same first name and accidentally showed me to that room first. But was quickly corrected. The room itself was functional. The bed was firm. The shared bathrooms was clean, but showing its age with various broken tiles. I was only staying one night in Detroit and this is definitely an option...

"It was charming. The staff was nice. Could be improved by putting the open bars at the bottom of the room/cell doors at the top to make more privacy while letting natural light in from the hallway."
