"We stayed here to celebrate our engagement, but the experience was disappointing overall.
While the property itself is nice, the service was atrocious. Staff were consistently unhelpful, dismissive, and seemed poorly trained and apathetic. Housekeeping entered our room twice without knocking and we were in bed naked. When we raised it, we were told to use the “Do Not Disturb” sign—no real apology or accountability. They made it our problem and only half took accountability after we pushed back. This is a pretty serious breach of privacy, that they didn't seem to take seriously.
The resort forces guests to use an app for basic requests like water and coffee, which was never explained and is poorly designed. Even worse, requests were marked as completed when nothing was delivered. After 4 p.m., service stops entirely, forcing guests to walk long distances due to the property size to the front desk for basic items. That’s unacceptable - Motels provide better service than this.
Housekeeping was inconsistent at best—missing sheets on the bed one night and leaving dirty towels behind.
There were a few positives: the grounds are nice, the water slides are fun, and the bartenders were great. But none of that makes up for the lack of basic service and professionalism.
We were considering having our wedding at a RIU resort, but after this experience we will be going with a better option with a different resort chain"
