This hotel checked all the boxes for what we were hoping would be a fun weekend away as a family of four. We booked the king suite, which was a great setup with a pull-out couch in the main area. After checking in, we enjoyed the pool. Later that evening we noticed the room was quite warm so we turned down the thermostat. By the kids’ bedtime, it had become noticeably hotter, and we lowered it all the way to 15°C. Despite this, the room remained unbearably hot throughout the night. Our kids ended up sleeping on the pull-out couch in nothing but their underwear with flushed faces, clearly uncomfortable. I’m 7 months pregnant and already struggle with sleep, so the excessive heat and dryness in the room made for a very difficult night (including dealing with a bloody nose). In the morning, I brought the issue to the front desk and was told I was the second guest to report the same problem. I was informed the hotel operates on central air, so there wasn’t much that could be done, aside from offering fans or switching rooms. We decided to wait for maintenance to assess the situation before moving. Later, we were told the issue had been resolved, so we stayed in the same room. What was most disappointing was how this situation was handled. Despite a very uncomfortable first night and known issue with the room no effort was made to offer any form of compensation or discount. For what could have been a great stay, this left a lasting negative impression.
