"The location was close to the high street and conveniently accessible to nearby attractions in the Cotswolds. The house was cozy and warm, making it a great choice for a family winter getaway for a few days. However, there were a few minor details that could be improved, such as the TV remote lacking batteries (we had to purchase and replace them ourselves) and the kitchen knives being quite dull, which made them difficult to use. These small points aside, we had an enjoyable stay overall."

"I've stayed at Old Silk Appartments twice so far in apartments 8 and 9. Both I found spotless, white soft towels, comfy beds, tastefully decorated well maintained and adequately appointed. Large fridge freezer, 4 ring hob oven and microwave, basic set of kitchen utensils and a couple of pans adequate to cook something simple. "I found the hotel and room clean and tidy though was tired in places. Good selection for breakfast, and the pub menu looked good and reasonably priced, though I didn't eat, the food I saw in the bar looked good. Was nice to have a swim and relax in the sauna"

"Stayed two nights on business - first night had friendly and helpful staff - second night was completely different. Two more colleagues joined me and in checking in were advised that breakfast was not booked which it had been. Reception staff incredibly surly, rude and unhelpful. Heavily stained carpet in room 507. Comfortable bed. Breakfast ok but not great."

"Really disappointed. One night stay for >£150, then told the gym was an extra £12 charge and breakfast an extra £16 (+£5 for standard breakfast items) making it £21 for 2 poached eggs on toast! My room was 2 single beds pushed together both of which had springs coming out the mattress. Bathroom was filthy, 2 members of staff entered my room without knocking. Woman on reception was helpful and the only shining light in this overpriced hotel."

"The main rooms are in a brick built extension that looks more like a premier inn that a lovely lodge like the pictures!!! Water leak in the reception on arrival. Reception staff not that helpful in explaining breakfast times or how to get to the room. Executive double Room was clean on initially walking in, thought dated in its appearance. 2 bottles of water in the fridge that was switched off. Kettle. Coffee machine. Large pedestal fan. Windows had limited opening hinges and lock staps on the windows both opened due to the radiator being stuck on as the radiator thermostat valve was broken due to its age. Coffee sprayed on the roof and some big holes in the walls Limited wardrobe space due to trousers press and ironing board being in there as well. Bathroom was clean and tidy, but damaged mermaid board on the walls no glass and a missing toilet roll holder where again a disappointment. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE BREAKFAST £9.99 a morning, coffee from single serving sachets. Bacon was bits, sausages where tray baked but not turned so white and skins peeling off, constantly running out of fried eggs beans tomato plates and you where lucky to get seated as they blocked half the dining area off. Plenty of Chesterfield seating areas. Over a 3 day stay the room was not cleaned or the coffes re-filled. Over all a disappointment, not what we thought we where getting, lack of cleaning, and the overall run down appearance lack of caring staff and poor food"
