"On arrival early evening the landlord showed me to my room and was very polite and helpful. The room was very clean. There was a musty smell throughout the room and also the stairs outside. May have had the carpets cleaned at some recent point. The en-suite although large was a bit disappointing as the bath had a fitted shower screen and a shower head holder fitted to the wall but no shower. "The hotel is an attractive building set in extensive grounds, with an interesting woodland walk. The staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. However, there were a few areas where the guest experience could be improved. It took us quite a while to find our room because the receptionist did not give us complete directions, and the signage did not direct guests to the second lift.
