"When we arrived at 4.30 we realized this motel is used for emergency housing (homeless people). The room was shabby, the heating was a small oil heater which would take forever to heat the room. There were cigarette burns in the bathroom sink. There were chips out of all the cupboards. We had a hot drink and then decided we'd go out for dinner, as we left I noticed a family changing a baby on the carpet of one of the rooms. There were unkept children running around outside. "Check in was quick and easy. Unit was very clean and well appointed. Nice clean bathroom and good powerful shower. Good comfortable beds. Parking directly outside and facility very handy to City and all other areas we were visiting. Had stayed at Palm City Motor Inn twice previously in a smaller 3 bed unit but felt the 4 bed unit we had this time was a cut above. Would definitely stay again when visiting Napier."
