"The room was basic but functional. For the price we paid it was perfectly acceptable. We were told at check in that we might have to let the hot water run for a while before it came out hot but we didn't experience any problems at all. The AC unit was exceptionally efficient and quiet. Wifi was a bit flaky in our room but fine everywhere else. It was great eating our evening meal out on the historic balcony at the front of the hotel. Breakfast was really just a bonus at this price point. It was a very basic continental style breakfast with bread and spreads and a few cereals with a geyser for hot water (t-bags and instant coffee). I really don't understand some of the negative reviews we saw online. It's a historic building so things will be different to a modern motel. If I was staying in Hay again I wouldn't hesitate to book this place. We had a great night's sleep and were fully refreshed for a long drive the next day."
"Easy check in, friendly reception, room was clean and comfortable. Quiet. Nice walking track along the river which was great at the end of a days driving and before heading out the next morning before another a big day of driving. Stretches the legs out."

What are holiday rentals like in Hay?
Holiday rentals are privately owned properties you can book for a few days, or a quick weekend, in Hay. Holiday rentals feature extras such as patios, hot tubs and fire pits so you'll feel right at home. If you're concerned about cleanliness, a holiday rental can offer a sense of privacy away from public hotel lifts and lobbies bustling with people while still allowing you the excitement and enjoyment of travel. You'll also get more space in a holiday rental than in a traditional hotel, which is another reason why a holiday rental is an attractive choice for families.
