"Best getaway ever"

"Fantastic ocean beach view from the balcony! Could see Wilmington buildings a few miles to the South. Shell Island Resort is at the end of the beach road! Walk the beach 1.5 miles northward the the ocean "river" flowing into the salt water marsh...Amazing!"

"Not worth the price. I stayed here plenty of times when it was Blockade Runner. Trailborn has doubled the price and I don’t really see the “upgrades” in the actual room. Shower is a regular tub combo and water pressure is non existent. Thought I’d give it a shot since you can’t beat walking out of your room straight to the beach. I’ve stayed in much nicer places for nowhere near the cost. At least give me a balcony. Nope. It’s clean and the beds are comfy. As soon as I pulled up, the concierge...

"Ive stayed at this hotel several times and will keep coming back. Our room was clean and the front desk staff were friendly and professional. The pool was undergoing repairs and so not usable. Also, i had to call the desk for toilet paper, as we had only half a roll and no extras. Breakfast choices were really good, including eggs, sausage, hash browns, waffles, fruit and yogurt. Good experience overall."

"The room was a great size for the price. Clean but carpets could use replacing or steam cleaning. Stained! Pillows and mattresses were way too soft. After few days of sleeping on them our necks and backs were killing us. Had to ask for towels every day. Breakfast was good, very attentive kitchen staff.
