"This is a hidden gem. It's a charming old manor house with very comfortable rooms and lovely food. The staff can't do enough for you and are extremely helpful. It's set in its own grounds, completely hidden from the road with no noise apart from birdsong and the whispering of the trees."

"Great location for park and ride into Bath. We stayed in the main building-this was a mistake. It was noisy-the annex (where we have stayed before) is much better. Our room had a great view of the race course but unfortunately was directly above the kitchen. Kitchen smells and noise drifted up and on one occasion very loud music from the kitchen. "We enjoyed our stay, however the bed was only small my 6’1 husbands feet hung over the end, other than that it was comfortable. Its a good 15 minute walk into town for a restaurant but there are plenty of take aways about 150 yards away, and a pub about a 5 minute walk. Our room was at the back overlooking the river so it was lovely and quiet."

"The staff were excellent unfortunately the facilities were not. We had a bad nights sleep - the bed was uncomfortable and there didn’t appear to be any kind of sound proofing in the rooms as it felt like we could hear every coming and going in the hotel, including the guests talking in the next room. The bathroom was also not very clean, there was black mould on the door runner in the shower and even the toilet roll holder was rusty. The breakfast was disappointing and poor quality."

"Lovely hotel the only downside which I had not realised was breakfast started at 8 and we needed to leave at 730. The staff were lovely and provided us with cereal and milk the night before. We eat in the restaurant on the evening of our arrival and the food was excellent."

"Stayed for one night, which happened to be the hottest night of the year. Not the hotels fault, but the window in the room would not open. Hotel did supply fans but made little difference. Major issue was after a night in a 30 degree room there was no water for a shower, or the toilet. Spoke to manager who was stressed but apologetic who said the mains were off due to an issue which he hoped would be fixed at some point…. We left quickly to find somewhere to shower and was asked at reception if...

"On arrival there was road works outside the hotel which we were unaware of. I had messaged to ask where to park but got no answer. The parking is payable across the road and behind some houses. The hotel building is very old and the bar area is quite nice. The two young lads on the bar were very nice and friendly. The room we had was in need of decoration and updating, not in good shape. We had drinking facilities provided but I’d advise take your own as the ones given were to certain tastes....

"Wonderful location and authentic experience of historical Bath. Please be aware that not all travelers will be willing to cope with small quarters and lack of air conditioning or an elevator! Perfect for me, but a fellow traveler chose another hotel a few blocks away so she could be more comfortable in the record breaking heat."
