"I was unable to shower the whole time I was there due to a broken shower head that someone tried to repair with tape. I was only here for one night for an event and it really kinda ruined it a little. The building is extremely run down and dated beyond the lobby area. You have no way to control the temperature in your room AC blasting all night it was freezing. "This historical property is a landmark in Chicago. It was completed in 1871 and burned down 13 days later in the Great Chicago fire. Greek frescos grace the ceiling of the enormous lobby. Now it is a Hilton property and Hilton has maintained it as a beautiful historical hotel."

"I stayed in the hotel multiple times till now, since my son goes school nearby. No matter which rooms, the doors have never been well isulated to block light, specially there were all the gaps below the door leaking lights in. Although the windows were all well set, the lights can get in from door making the room pretty much light at night."
