What I liked, property staff was very nice and very helpful. Not once did I feel like I was being ignored. The room was nice and clean, but the property itself can use an overhaul/renovation as the building looks and feels old. Overall our stay here was still amazing and quiet. I would still firmly recommend this place to friends and family.

We stayed at the Ilima for 7 days in August and had a great experience. Though we arrived later than expected, the staff was very warm and welcoming. The room was spacious—much larger than many of today’s hotels—providing plenty of room for our family of 4 and all our luggage. While the Ilima isn’t a brand-new hotel, it was clean, neat, and offered a good price in a nice part of the city. The only noise we noticed at night came from the bar next door, but it didn’t bother us. Our only challenge was finding a parking spot in the garage for our rented 4Runner, so we made sure to return by 6 pm to secure a perfect spot. We would definitely stay here again—next time with a smaller car! 😊

I wanted to give a good rating since there aren’t many accommodations with kitchens available, but I can’t give a high score for cleanliness because I spotted cockroaches twice, which I haven’t seen in a hotel in a long time. The building is overall quite old, and while parking is free, it is very limited with small parking spots. After 8 p.m., it’s hard to find a spot, so you may have to find a paid parking lot nearby. This wasn't a big issue for me, but I thought it might be helpful to mention for others considering this accommodation.

For the price it was surprising there are never any bellmen available to help with baggage especially traveling with a large family.You are charged a premium then expects to also do the bellman work yourself. The building is very old. But it’s clear it had some minor renovations. The housekeeping staff is kind but ask too many personal questions instead of focusing on their job. The fire alarm tests were annoying and lasted hours. The hotel staff just burst into our room and held the door open with no regard to our privacy. The location is premium as it’s conveniently located next to everything. But the property and the rooms itself is not a good value for the price. Parking is very difficult in that area. The building is very old. The bathtub was disgusting. There’s no amount of cleaning that makes it appear clean. The staff is kind but so laid back that you have to wait until they are willing to get to you and help you with what you need.

Good location with reasonable price. Two room suite was great for three generation travel. Well-equipped kitchenette. Excellent housekeeping. Friendly staff. Only thing that we are not happy about was old fashioned jalousie windows which was not adequate to block noise from nearby bars. They are reasonably quite at the late hours, so did not bother me much after all activities in daytime, however, some of my family needed ear plugs for better sleep. Room temperature was okay by A/C in every room, but I am sure those windows are leaky.

Just an outstanding stay. The large room was amazing & just what I needed after a hard day climbing Koko Crater. Great bed, nice bathroom, big TV and great parking - the only issue was the rowdy hotel next door, but you can't choose your neighbours. ;)

Good price.cozy hotel. Off course it was not new, not luxury hotel but cute renovation. We have canal view and sunrise from spacious lanai. All staff were helpful and nice Something I noticed were smoking smell from bathroom vent and we had to wash used dishes

Lovely staff and comfortable stay, but noisy night
I loved the staff at this hotel, they were always helpful and friendly. My stay was comfortable and I loved the room I was in, unfortunately with the window type in the room I was able to hear loud music and voices from the place next door, it often lasted until 1:30 am which disrupted my sleep significantly and that affected how I felt each day during my trip. I would have loved more peaceful sleep but I do understand being in the middle of a busy city as well.
Patio overlooks next door restaurant and bar area, which is noisy at night.

This is a older hotel a little off the beating path, but close to everything you want to do. Room was very large, bathroom very small though. We were in room 902 and it has a nice view of the mountains. Amenities are lacking only has a pool no hot tub. But the free parking makes up for it and the small kitchen to be able to cook if you choose to. Room service everyday was very nice. Very noisy though, heard garbage man in the early morning and Ambulance and fire trucks everyday. But being off the beating path of hotel row it was fine. Money well spent. I'm not one for spending a lot of money on a hotel room that all you do in it is sleep and take a shower so staying here was great.

I would not recommend this hotel. They have consruction going nearby and all day long the noises and drilling, basically I could not sleep in. Also they had some polishing going on downstairs and had this fans running all time in lobby, would be nice if they told us all this before booking the hotel. After booking went to the counter to ask for refund for remaining nights but the clerk on counter at night straight up refused and in morning the staff was not helpful either. Also complained about the toilet flush water kept running all time but nobody addressed that issue. They expect you to keep seeing the staff repeatedly, i have stayed at many other properties, as soon as you tell them an issue they jump on it but at this location they could not care any less. Very bad experience, they need to retrain their management and gear up their customer service.
