On the morning of check out, around 8:15-8:30, there was a lot of noise outside of our room (hotel staff). I had the do not disturb tag on the door handle, soon after the talking stopped, there was 3 knocks at my door, my door was opened, then a mans voice saying he was maintenence and if he could come in. Me and my companion yelled no and to get out. Once the door closed, I immediately got dressed and went to the front desk to ask for management. The clerk, who was texting on her phone, insisted there was no management on site because of personal issues, then nonchalantly blew me off. I then asked her for the corporate number, in which she gave me the wrong number. When I requested the hotel site number, she walked away, came back with the man who opened my door and told me she couldn't give me the hotel site number or any information on the hotel and was waiting for the manager to respond to her. The man in return told me that he was the one who opened my door, but didn't fully come into my room. I asked him if he saw the do not disturb sign on my door handle, in which he responded yes. I then asked him why would he open my door. He answered by saying its customary for them to follow this practice because sometimes people leave the sign there. The clerk said they do this all the time and dont see what the problem is. I responded by telling her the problem was that it wasnt close to check out time, the do not disturb sign was on the door and as a woman I didnt feel safe.
