"Water was not clear and when asked why they apologized they said it must because they haven’t run it for awhile, despite me paying for a view they offered to change the room for a room without a view where the water would be clean but didn’t offer a credit or refund for the difference I paid for the view"

"I chose the hotel for the location to meet friends for a visit to the Art Institute and dinner as I passed through the city, a modest price and at-grade adjacent parking lot convenience, but the physical condition was so shabby. The mattress was too hard for me, so made for an uncomfortable sleep. Also, I was up on the 12th floor of the north tower, so perhaps that was the reason, but there was virtually no water pressure in the shower, it was only a trickle, and the water didn’t get very warm, so I had to skip taking a shower in the morning before I checked out. Last time I was there with my sister on a hot summer day, the air conditioning barely worked, so the room was too warm, and sleep was not refreshing either, but we did have really nice lake views and also convenient access to downtown lakefront activities. We did request assistance for the AC from maintenance staff, but the building is just old, and they couldn’t do any better, given the physical plant condition. "

"This is a great bargain for a place to stay downtown. Only issue really is that the rooms are a bit worn and the decor pretty unremarkable, though everything was quite clean. Also a bummer that my view of the river was marred by giant TRUMP on building across from hotel. Still: great coffee maker, nice cold water dispenser on each floor, good bath products, very kind staff, and great location."

"We loved everything about this modern hotel, with one exception: the room doors “bang” when closing. These sounds can be heard up and down the hall and woke us up multiple times. Recommendation to the property management to install some form of sound mitigation or softer closing mechanism in the doors. "
