"I enjoyed my stay at the Merchant. I loved the history of the property, its location, the extra comfort touches everywhere in both the common areas and the individual rooms. The small deck in the rear of the building offered a pleasant seating area outside, the property is well maintained inside and out. Loved being able to walk everywhere, can’t wait to return to Salem and the Merchant. "

"Room was clean, wish the restroom had a fan, but the bed was very comfortable. We appreciated the chocolate on the pillows and bottled waters. The staff was very friendly and the common area was also nice to have with a microwave, coffee machine and refrigerator to use. Parking is free after 8pm and Sundays so that was helpful with a Saturday night stay. Quicker to take an Uber to visit Salem in October! Would highly recommend. "

"The room was great- exactly as described. The gentleman owner was kind - lived on the premises and spent a lot of our stay mowing the lawn and working in the gardens. Would be a bit uncomfortable for femme people traveling alone, but a good set up for people looking for conversation or company. "

"An amazing stay! Very welcoming, very clean, very accommodating and so much more! We had a very late check in and accommodations were made, the food was so good with lots of options. The rooms were clean and large with loads of charm! We came on our honeymoon and would 100% come again! "

"Room was nice and clean. Firm bed, soft pillows, just how I like it. The Tavern was great, staff were all attentive. I was even 'carded' for a drink. Which I love because Im in my mid 30s and not many places card me still in my small town lol 😆 I didnt love that the room temp stayed at 71 degrees even after turning the thermostat up to 85, but it was still comfortable enough. I will for sure return! Also, no ghost activity other than feeling twice like someone was pressing down on my hip...
