"This hotel is in the nice quiet town with great breakfast staple food.
The room was clean and cozy for a one-night stay. We liked the parking from the back side of the building that gave us an easy access to the room. Perfect for late arrivals after long day of national parks driving."
"Beautiful property right on Jackson Lake with amazing views. Leave your bags in the car until you complete your check-in since you can park your car right in front of your room. They have three choices for dinner. We liked the Pioneer Grill since it was a very relaxed set up with good food for breakfast, lunch or dinner. After dinner drinks to watch the sunset was an awesome way to finish our day before retiring to our room. No TV in the rooms, but WiFi works well. If you visit Jackson Lake on your way out to Yellowstone Park, make sure you take care of business before you leave the hotel, since there is no cellular phone coverage once you enter the park."
"The staff were very helpful and friendly, the suite was beautiful, clean and spacious. Teton Village was a convenient location for all the activities we had planned and places we wanted to visit."
"Colter Bay is a great place to stay in the Grand Teton National Park. Rustic, quiet cabins with comfortable beds. No frills for sure but that’s the vibe in national parks. On-site restaurants offer a good variety. Trails to walk; beach to have a picnic. After first staying here 20+ years ago we are always happy to return."
"Absolutely one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed — avoid at all costs. The property is essentially an unmanaged ranch covered in dirt, with rooms that appear to have gone uncleaned for months. Despite the appalling conditions, the staff carry an attitude as if they’re running a luxury five-star resort — and have the nerve to charge extra for bed sheets.
The room had no working heater. We reported it, were told someone would come fix it — nobody ever did. We spent the night freezing. To make matters worse, cats were wandering into the room through holes in the walls. The shared bathroom was absolutely disgusting.
They make you sign a long list of strict rules, which would be acceptable if the property were actually maintained to any reasonable standard — it is not. At under $10/night it sounds like a deal, but trust me, it is not worth a single dollar.
The only saving grace is the natural surroundings, which are genuinely beautiful — wasted potential for what could be a charming property with basic upkeep.
Do yourself a favor: read all the reviews carefully. Even driving a bit further to stay in Diggs or Island Park is a far better choice. Stay away."
"The room was poor to average for the price, although I somewhat expected that. I chose this property primarily because of its location, only about 15 minutes from the Moran entrance to Grand Teton National Park.
I could not rate it higher than "OK" because the room lacked some basic conveniences. There was no place to hang clothes, even though the room had a perfect corner where wall hooks or a small hanging area could easily be installed. The bathroom also had space for additional hooks.
The hair dryer only had fan settings and no low-temperature option. The lowest fan setting was still too hot for me.
Noise was also an issue. We could hear our neighbors' alarm clock and conversations, as well as people walking in the hallway. In addition, the window shade in our room was broken.
I was aware before booking that the property did not offer a microwave, mini-fridge, or television. However, for a room costing more than $270 per night, I would have expected at least a small coffee maker or electric kettle.
The lobby area in the building where we stayed also felt neglected. It was dusty and lacked any sense of warmth or activity. I'm not sure if that was the reason, but I rarely saw anyone spending time there. It did not feel like an inviting space for guests to relax
On the positive side, the property offers beautiful, peaceful scenery, and charming Western atmosphere. Those aspects were wonderful. However, overall, I did not feel the accommodations justified the price we paid."
