"Great place. Communication is a little tough due to the language barrier. The gentleman they leave in charge overnight doesn’t know how to use the POS system so I was unable to buy a commemorative stamp for my stamp book before my super early check out (early flight). But I can honestly say I was amazed. The place is a Ghibli Studio film brought to life. As serene as you can imagine and the staff was super attentive. Truly a pleasure."

"Such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay on the outskirts of Kyoto ... a hidden and perfect respite to escape the busy city action but still close enough to pop in and check out all the amazing places in town. The facilities, the meals, and the service were awesome, and we'd like to especially mention the wonderful manager who always made us feel special, Koichi Koike! "The place needs updating The rooms were ok Tight with Towels ( the smallest I’ve even seen ) Tight with water I paid for a double room on my own to get 2 towels and 2 bottles of water was hard work It is situated outside the main area about a 40 min walk but is 8 min from tube Breakfast was one day Japanese next day western and so on Breakfast was a 2 out 10"

"Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The onsen was amazing! The dinner and breakfast they serve is very large and delicious. The area is perfect for someone wanting peace and quiet. I would love to go back and stay again!"

"Of the nine different hotels and ryokans we stayed at, this was our favorite place to stay. The location was gorgeous and the staff was the friendliest and most helpful we encountered. This location is up in the mountains so it doesn't have many tourists. We were able to to walk to three different nearby shrines/temples in about 2-3 hours and saw only 4 other people. This was the most relaxing part of our 2 week trip. The dinner and breakfast was exceptional but the staff and location is why we picked this hotel as our favorite place of our trip. I would absolutely stay here again. If you are looking for a place to relax in a mountain setting this is the place to stay!"

"A relatively inexpensive place in a great location in central Kyoto, friendly and helpful staff, decent room, quiet. This is not a 5 star hotel, more like 2-3 stars but a good one, with a nice atmosphere. I’d stay again for sure."

"You cannot beat the price for this hotel/apartment. It had everything we needed, was clean, and spacious...and exactly as pictured on the site. The only downside (which is very minor) is that the check-in is at a separate location, which is in walking distance of Kyoto station, which is where you will most likely be arriving anyway. The staff was SUPER kind and friendly - and they shuttle you right to your apartment/hotel suite, which is great and the building we were in was modern, clean and fantastic. This is a great find for the most reasonable price we booked in Japan."
