"Probably the only good thing was its location. I use Expedia quite a bit and reviews have been reliable but found it misleading for this particular property. We passed property twice when we first arrived thinking it can not be the hotel with such high reviews for a vacation we’ve been looking forward for many months. Property is just old in a not so nice looking part of town and room we got was very small, with shower barely enough to move around. No sufficient space to unpack luggage, all our clothes were in our bags entire one week. I inquired about cancel options with Expedia but after few days came back and said we can’t cancel and we made a mistake of pre paying entire bill for a presumed deal. In retrospect, it was a big mistake. Imagine you’ve been dreaming of a Hawaii vacation, which is not cheap, and picture yourself in the room (pictures) before booking."

"Clean room, beautiful view, nice pool, quick and convenient breakfast. The bikes were a nice amenity, but difficult to find one the right height as not adjustable. The staff were all very friendly as well!"
Kauai Shores Hotel

"Didn’t look that special pulling up but I would stay there again over other super fancy hotels. Great location. Great staff. Definitely more oriented to families. Has cornhole, giant connect four, a nice outdoor pool and a walk up to the beach. Not a good beach for snorkeling. The west side of Kauai has rough waters. But an easy drive up to hanalei or poipu. Would 10/10 recommend."
Ko'a Kea Resort on Po'ipu Beach

"When we got to the hotel, our check-in was delayed almost until 4 PM even though they promised that their room will be ready earlier. Took me quite a bit of complaining to get to our room by 3:30 PM. The room that we had was very nice, but it had a very noisy AC unit, which was outdated and probably is used throughout the property."
Aston Islander on the Beach

"My wife and I stayed at Aston Islander on the Beach for our honeymoon, making this trip especially meaningful. While the location is excellent, several issues impacted our stay. Upon arrival, we did not receive the advertised shell lei greeting and had to request it after seeing other guests receive one. We also booked an oceanfront room but were assigned a room that appeared to be ocean view, despite being told it qualified as oceanfront. We experienced ongoing Wi-Fi and cable issues, inconsistent housekeeping, missed linen exchanges, and an in-room safe that repeatedly malfunctioned. Housekeeping services on May 16 and May 20 were only completed after contacting the front desk. While most staff were helpful, one employee spoke to us in a disrespectful manner regarding a towel exchange. Although we appreciated the refund of four days of amenity fees, the room classification dispute, maintenance problems, and service shortcomings detracted from what should have been a special honeymoon experience."

"Probably the nicest view I have ever experienced at a resort. The entire property is stunning. The food was excellent , especially so at Welina Terrace. They could use a little work on the service, no major complaints, but a few hiccups. The staff is very friendly and makes every effort for there guest's. The rooms are nice, but are quite small. For me, the beds were too soft. The views are so stunning at this property , that any minor deficiencies are immediately forgotten."
OUTRIGGER Kauaʻi Beach Resort & Spa

"Good location to be central to Kauai and airport access. Can drive up north or south easily. The rooms were clean but dated. The same with the bathrooms. We came when they were doing updates( may 2026)so areas were closed off to us that would have been nice to utilize when we were there. The pool areas had closures and the gym had an odor, maybe from the construction. Unknown and no AC. Spa was out of the way to try and use due to construction so it wasn’t inviting to try and book. Staff were friendly."
