As a single woman I walked around night and day and always felt comfortable. I got lost a few times and always there was someone there to see if they could help. The Monasteries and Sacred temples and small hidden sacred places add to it.

I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the city and the people of Kathmandu are polite, helpful, have great civic sense toward their city. They are very courteous and very respectful of visitors and fellow Nepali's.

Thamel is sensory overload in a wonderful way! A photographer's dream. And a shopping bonanza. Highly recommend for the adventurous traveler.

The traffic and smog have gotten terrible over the years. I suggest bringing a mask and planning for the time it takes to get places. Other than those two bummers- Kathmandu, and Nepal generally, is wonderful.

kathmandu is itself vibrant and multicultural city having thousands of temples and people with great heart except few. always love the place.

Make sure you bring a mask for when you go out and about. The air quality is atrocious.

It's a must see city, it's mad and an explosion on the senses, and Boudhanath is an Oasis in the middle of it all, the hotel is very convenient for this and sensible priced. They can also arrange treks etc . Thankyou

Worh spending a few days here but if you don't like dust , noise, traffic, people and risking being hit by a motorcycle every 2 seconds this is not the place for you!

Thamel and the Darbarmarg is the best place to enjoy at night in Kathmandu Nepal. Feel free to visit once, and I sure, you will enjoy it.

Interesting. Poverty but minimum litter. Very little hassle in the street. People are smiling and welcoming.
