"The room was reasonably clean but looked very tired and dingey, shower head holder was broken and when using rain shower, bath screen too short and flooded the bathroom floor.
Have stayed in a lot better for a lot less!!"
"My husband and have stayed here before and was always nice and welcoming however, this stay was terrible.
The bedroom was unkempt, no toilet roll, bed linen was crumpled had seen better days.
There was one person checking us in, serving at rhe bar too.
I certainly won't be back. We have submitted a formal complaint and looking for compensation.

"This was my absolute favourite stay during our 2 weeks in Scotland! Absolutely authentic experience. The room was clean and so cozy. The food was perfect. Breakfast...omg. And the owner/staff were friendly and so helpful. If you have the chance, do stop here for a stay!"
"Kitchen closes early. We were unfortunately subjected to 2 fire alarms and were forced to evacuate both times in the early morning hours. While I appreciate the apologies there was no offer of compensation."
"This was a beautiful, cosy place to stay. Staff were super friendly and the lobby, guest areas and pub and restaurant were beautiful and welcoming. I would definitely stay again!"
"Staff were outstanding in every way. Didn’t get the chaps name but he arranged a slightly later breakfast so we could eat with family who lived nearby. So so helpful and friendly. Great wee hotel."
"The Strathburn Hotel was the ideal venue for our surprise birthday gathering. The hotel is old style but comfortable, clean and warm with a quiet lounge area beside the reception where we sat and chatted. All the staff were both efficient and friendly - Nicki( booking), Charlie and a very helpful Polish lady. The food was good, though the menu fairly limited especially for gluten free choices. The chef had made fresh gluten free rolls one night - the best I've ever tasted and the Thai curry was fantastic. For other gluten free people The Garioch Fish Bar just along the road does lovely gluten free fish and chips too."
