A wonderful peaceful 3-day stop staying in the superior lodge room. The room itself comprised a spacious living area and a similarly large bedroom set a short walk from the castle itself. All of the staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful. Breakfast was superb with a great selection of high quality options. Highly recommended for anyone looking to stay in the area.

Can not fault this hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. For e.g. our coffee maker did not work one call to reception and within 5 minutes someone was there to sort it out. The food in the restraunt was exceptional and the waiting staff were knowledgble about the dishes. Service fantastic.

We had a very warm welcome at the hotel. The staff were delightful and nothing was too much trouble. We were particularly impressed by the welcome given to children and the range of activities for them. I would advise guests to take notice of the hotel’s suggestion to avoid the busier times for breakfast as we did experience one morning in the “rush hour” and it was hectic

Very good service, spacious rooms and excellent food. What's not to like?

Stayed here 4 nights when visiting family. Had my son who is two years old and it had the facilities next door at the dome to keep him entertained. Room was big, clean and beds were comfy. We didn't use the pool as your required to wear a swimming hat which is apparently normal there. We had breakfast included and there was a lot of choice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room service was fast. Couldn't fault a thing.

We had an excellent stay at the Firecastle rooms and we will definitely return. Very clean room- spotless. I spoke to the lady cleaning the rooms in the morning and she was very helpful and pleasant. The staff in the downstairs restaurant (Harte's) and the delicatessen were all very accommodating. It was a truly excellent place to stay and we are fussy! Thank you. Ps. The Nespresso coffee machine was also amazing.

Really nice place

Bedroom was a really good size. Good storage space with a safe and fridge. The bathroom had both a bath and separate shower. Really good choice of Gluten Free food available both for breakfast and evening meals.

We were well looked after by all staff and the facilities were everything we required. Already booked our next stay!

This is a lovely hotel. The staff are very efficient and friendly. The rooms are generous with comfortable beds, good bathrooms and my favourite toiletries. The food is very good: breakfast has lots of hot and cold options with tea and coffee. If you want a latte or cappuccino then the small cafe in the foyer has them with an excellent selection of cakes and pastries. The only thing I would have changed was the toilet tissue in the room, a little thin for me and not as good as that in the public...

I’ve stayed at the Dolmen a couple of times now, staff are really friendly, food in the restaurant is fantastic. Rooms are clean and tidy and well equipped. The only thing that lets it down ever so slightly in my opinion is that the bathrooms are starting to look a little tired but still perfectly functionable. All in all, I like staying here and will book a room here again.
