Shutters was great! We got a Dune View room on the first floor and it was clean, cute, and beachy. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend Shutters to anyone who’s looking for an inexpensive stay in Nags Head.

Positives include beach access, full sized appliances (although no dishwasher) and nice kitchen table, great staff, clean overall buildings, indoor and outdoor pools plus a sauna, plenty of parking, nice free breakfast. Only real complaint is thin walls and ceiling, can hear all conversations of neighbors. The place is very well kept and great for families. For just 2 people I would recommend going off-season when not too busy, but not in-season.

Well kept property. This is a reasonably small sized hotel that came with amenities, parking was easy, nice and accessible. Breakfast was good. Beach is easily accessible. Staff were friendly. Room and bathroom were clean. Pool and fitness center were also nice and accessible. We enjoyed our 2 nights family stay there. It was quiet and enjoyable.

Breakfast was good! We stayed two days but on the second day we had no maid service, no garbage pick up , no coffee in the room. You would think for what we paid per night they would have taken care of rooms better!

Overall we were very happy. 4th floor great view. My only issues were the soft beds, poor quality bed linens, towels and even toilet paper. Both beds were very soft and it’s probably time they be replaced. The linens and towels are very rough and poor quality. Ever the toilet paper was so rough it made it hard to wipe (just dab). For the money they charge, they can afford to make some improvements. With that said I’d still consider staying again just bring my own linens and tp.

I love this hotel! This year was my third stay in a row. The location is fantastic. Plenty of restaurant options and shopping close at hand. Best of all it's right on the beach with its own private beach access. My favorite part is that it is small, so it doesn't feel chaotic like a lot of the larger chain owned properties. The staff is friendly, helpful and always attentive to any need. The rooms are always clean and are well appointed. I like to stay in the "Tower" building which has an elevator and luggage carts to get me to my room with a balcony and view of the ocean on the third or fourth floor. Shutters on the Banks is another hidden treasure of the Outer Banks. I'll be back again next year!
