The Gibb River Road is an absolutely amazing experience. Its in my Top 5 List of Places to Visit in Australia and it is truly a special destination with postcard perfect waterholes, pounding waterfalls and spectacular sunsets over one of Australia's most picturesque ranges, the Cockburns! (not pronounced as dirty as its spelt, but rather as 'coburn'.) You can hire a 4WD from Broome or Kununurra or jump on a tour with one of the off-road tour buses. This is purportedly the most popular park in the Kimberley region, arguably one of Australia's most iconic outback locations.
Along the Gibb River Road, make sure to stop and at least spend one evening at Windjana Gorge. At dusk, tens of thousands of bats fly out of the gorge and you can occasionally hear small freshwater crocodiles jumping out of the water trying to catch one for dinner. Naming of location was misleadng. (Bell Gorge is nowhere near property which is located in a unattractive area). Staff were a bit over the season and not as willing to help as other Kimberley places we visited. Maybe could benefit from extra training or maybe difficult to attract good staff to a ...

One of our favorite stops along the Gibb River Road was visiting Tunnel Creek. Bring a bright glowing torch to walk through the natural cave here and beware of the occasional small and "harmless" freshwater crocodiles that might be down there by the water!
