"I recently stayed at Oriental Hotel Kyoto Rokujo and unfortunately my experience was disappointing. The room was quite noisy, which made it difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep. During check-in, the staff did not clearly explain the hotel amenities. There was no mention of welcome drinks or available coffee, and I had to figure things out on my own. They also didn’t provide any helpful guidance on how to access nearby public transportation like buses or the subway, which was inconvenient as a visitor. In general, the service felt lacking. The staff did not greet guests consistently when coming and going, which made the overall atmosphere feel less welcoming. In comparison, I stayed at Toyoko Inn Osaka and found their staff to be much more friendly, attentive, and polite. Additionally, the location of Oriental Hotel Kyoto was not very convenient. It felt quite far from major subway stations, making it less ideal for getting around the city. Overall, due to the noise, lack of service, and inconvenient location, I’m not sure I would choose to stay at this hotel again."

"My favorite hotel in Japan! It was absolutely perfect in every way. Clean, beautifully decorated, helpful staff, easy check in, super quiet, comfortable beds, room size was large and felt more like a small apartment with a sitting area and dividing doors. Location is near so many popular spots Gion, Nishiki Market, Pontocho Alley, lots of shops and restaurants, the river and close to subway stations. I did not want to leave. Highly recommend! "
