We stayed in Traben-Trarbach to visit the Bernkastel Weinfest, to which we travelled on the regular passenger ferry along the delightful Moselle river. The Golden Traube was only a short walk from the ferry stop, and was close to numerous restaurants and cafes in Trarbach. It was an excellent base to explore the area and the towns.

Fantastic breakfast, lovely clean rooms with great views. All staff were very friendly, polite and cheerful.

Large rooms.

A very nice and comfortable stay in the Mosel Valley. Nice food in the restaurant and breakfast good and traditional German :)

Special hotel right in the heart of Berncastle, rooms are very spacious, lovely bathroom and a fabulous breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Mosel. Staff were attentive and there is on site parking for just 8 Euros a day. Super convenient, out of the door and you are bang in the middle of the beautiful Berncastle. Will be back for sure.

Great choice for an overnight stop driving further south, but next time, would like to stop for 3 nights to take advantage of the hotel bikes and cycle up and down the Mosel. Lovely sunny terrace for drinks and to eat our evening meal, and the breakfast was splendid.

Just good for facilities as no plug socket near mirror for hair dryer and no tea/ coffee making equipment in the room which was in the garden so a good walk to restaurant. Even if this is not usually supplied, perhaps it should be given the location and standard.

This was a very pleasant hotel and different to staying in a chain establishment. The staff (owners?) were helpful. There is no lift but the woman on recrption insisted on carrying half our luggage up the stairs. The view from our window over the Mosel was lovely. The hotel is close to many places to visit on the Trarbach side of the river.

Room & Bathroom was excellent, very modern.

Great location. Very beautiful and comfortable. Offered discount for parking and had a place to store our bicycles overnight. The room was spacious and had good amenities. It is old so the floors squeaked in some places. The rainfall shower head was leaky and in need of replacement, but did not interfere with showering. Best of all was a small fridge and a fan. Would highly recommend!

Easy self check in (we also stayed last year) spotlessly clean with all the amenities you need, lovely area.

Had a few issues due to booking via Hotels.com, but the owners and staff at the property were great. The suite we had was massive, with 2 bath/shower rooms, and both had great views. There was a well equipped kitchen available if you wanted to self-cater. Free parking on site, and only a short walk to the beautiful town of Traben-Trabach. Only a short stay this time, but I hope to return for a week next year, to take advantage of the hiking, cycling and wine in the area. Many thanks to Niels...
