Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo
An outstanding hotel just a few steps from Kyoto Station. Staff uniformly kind and helpful. Large double room with a nice bathroom, mini-fridge and a sofa. My rate was a bargain. Excellent buffet breakfast. Very highly recommended.

Sotetsu Fresa Inn Kyoto Hachijoguchi
Easy to self-check in and self-check out. Staffs were nice and proficient in English. Room is spacious enough for solo traveller.

Sakura Terrace
Room was great with a large bathroom; much bigger overall space compared to the chain hotels in Japan. Staff were wonderful. In-room massage was incredible—definitely recommend.

Hotel Keihan Kyotoeki Minami
Good customer service, the room always clean , I wish the breakfast they change a bit stayed there for 3 weeks the breakfast always the food every day, but overall it’s nice to stay and close to shopping and dining.
