"We had a mountain room for 2 nights. We had a wonderful time. The cabin was clean, modern and had air conditioning. We loved the hammock form our front porch and saw Coati on several occasions while on our porch. The staff at the resort were sincere and kind. We enjoyed getting to know many of the staff here. The location was unique as it was the center of so many adventurous activities. During our stay we went horseback riding, to a waterfall, zip-lined, walked across multiple hanging bridges, went down a water slide, hot springs and went on a night tour of the jungle. All of these activities were incredible and on property. I would highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a little adventure with nice accommodations."

"Beautiful property with a lot of activities to enjoy and magical sites to explore. This includes a pool, hiking trails, several waterfalls and natural pools in the river, and the hot springs and mineral mud. Nice variety of tours too- the horseback riding/ tubing combo trip was fantastic! We loved the convenience of everything on the property! The breakfast buffet was very good, beds were comfortable, and service was helpful. We liked it so much, we extended our stay."

"This is a beautifully-crafted, very clean hotel. The staff are helpful and kind. Breakfast is cooked to order with beautiful trays of fresh fruit and excellent coffee. The grounds are lovely, and all around are huge, magnificent trees full of many birds. One one side of the hotel is a market, and on the order side is a very good restaurant. There are several beaches nearby, but my favorite beach is a short drive north in the wildlife refuge."

"The room was clean and bright, the air conditioning and fan were great, and the staff were wonderful. The setting is amazing for those that love nature. There are several beatiful beaches nearby with very few people about. I woke to monkeys playing in the tree next to my room, that was the best!"

Rancho Costafalo

"Rancho Costafalo is a unique and very special place. It is remote and is situated in an idyllic setting on a large farm with an amazing botanical garden with species of citrus, palms, and rare cacti and a large beautiful pond. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed out two-night stay at the ranch. The accommodations are somewhat rustic, but offer everything we needed, a clean bed, nice bathroom and a pleasant deck. The ranch is about a 20-minute drive from the Santa Rosa National Park, which is well worth a visit for its historic significance and nice paved trails. It is also about 10 minutes from a small town with all the amenities. If you visit, be sure to stop by the tiny De La Abuella restaurant for dinner. Allan, the owners, is nice, friendly and helpful. He was very generous with us because we had forgotten to take cash and he footed the bill for our dinner and we reimbursed him later. We have a place in Guanacaste near Playa Grande. We plan to visit the ranch again the next time we are in the area. Melvin, the attendant at the ranch was very nice, polite and helpful. "
