feast for all senses

African Queen is a perfect not-too-big and not-too-small gem of a hotel on Somone beach. Recently renovated, tastefully decorated, clean, comfortable and perfect for relaxation. Staff is very helpful and generous with smiles. Food fresh and delicious...the whole experience was a feast for all senses. I higly recommend it and will be back for sure!

Nice and welcoming hotel with a very friendly and accomodating team. Overall a good stay with only one minor point to mention - no real hot water to shower at any time of day (lukewarm at best). The beach is not tremendously clean but that’s par for the course in most of Senegal.

This hotel is simply superb. It hs all the amenities of a large resort (swimming pools, oceanfront), good food, but it is locally owned and inspired and has very positive character. I travel a lot and would recommend this place very highly.

Well maintained, amazing staff . Shuttle service actually showed up . Rooms are spacious and modern. Big screen TV . Breakfast and Lunch were excellent with plenty of options. Ocean front with bar and 2 swimming pools. Only minor complaint is the dining chairs are brutally stiff , cushions would help. Awesome Hotel. 🙏❤️

Perfect hideaway to relax and enjoy the beach and pool. Hotel has a lovely relax feel with warm atmosphere. Food also very good. Staff were excellent, I look forward to returning someday.

L'accueil était parfait tout comme la chambre. Mais le restaurant était médiocre pour le petit déjeuner et passable pour le souper. On avait demandé à être réveillé à 6h pour les 2 chambres. Il y a eu qu'une chambre qui a été appelé mais à 5h du matin... Sans doute, une mauvaise compréhension.

The hotel did not honor our non-refundable reservation. They said they did not receive a confirmation from hotels.com. We showed them our confirmation, and that it was prepaid. They still did not honor the reservation. Sure hope hotels.com returns my $93

Le prix des chambres varie selon l'emplacement. La moins chère n'a pas vue sur mer mais cela ne nous a pas trop dérangé au final... Propre et confortable. Personnel adorable. Taxi a disposition des clients, parfait !

You can see that the Hotel has been recently refurbished so room and pool equipment are all new and in good condition. Buffet food is ok. Unfortunately we had a room that overlooked the road as they said this is happens when you book via Expedia. They recommended to call directly next time to get a seaview room.

Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Mooi zee-uitzicht, aangenaam zwembad. Ontbijt is uitgebreid genoeg. Eigen tv en airconditioning in kamer. Er stond vermeld dat er animatie was, maar ik heb nooit de animator ons zien vragen deel te nemen aan activiteiten. Hier en daar was er onderhoud nodig in de kamer. Veel wifi-kanalen aanwezig, maar in de kamer was er nooit wifi.

Nous sommes restes 2 nuits. Le cadre est très sympa. Mais il y a des travaux dans l'hotel et les bruits etaient gatigants. Le personnel est a l'ecoute.et très serviable
