"This is one of my favorite hotels I’ve ever stayed at. It’s a small, family-run boutique. When I had trouble dealing with noise from the street due to migraines, they moved me to a quieter room. When I got an ear infection, one of their workers walked me to a medical clinic and helped me with the appointment. The family even invited me to go bicycling with them. "
"Hotel Casa Montero is a solid choice if you want to stay in the historic center of Quito. The entry courtyard is tranquil and inviting, and the beds are quite comfortable. A particular bonus was the size and functionality of the bath/shower -- really impressive! The staff was fantastic -- very kind and helpful. Overall, I had a great time here!"

And just an easy block and a half walk from the Plaza Grande; what more could you ask for? looking hard to find something to fault, the only thing I can think of is that the showerhead was a little difficult to reach in order to direct the flow of water. "Loved the hostel. Has the historic rustic vibe. Have daily events and walking tour on board schedule. In or around the old historic town. Not walking distance from your typical Holiday Inn and restaurants but closer to the typical Ecuadorian life style and food. Its like a maze inside the hostel with creaking wood floor."
"All the staff were exceptional. Breakfast was limited but okay. I requested a room with a view, but didn’t realize it was 6 floors up—with no elevator! Do I asked for a lower-level room and got one on the third floor. The next night I moved to a lower floor, however, it was very noisy. Good thing I had my ear plugs. The location is fantastic!"
