"Convenience for my purposes (visiting a friend who lives nearby) and price outweigh the initial impression of a slightly seedy block. The reception fellow was pleasant, warm, and observant. He really was the best asset of the motel. Was worried at first about noise from neighbors, but they weren’t an issue after all. Felt safe and slept well. As a dog owner (didn’t bring him this trip), appreciated the motel is dog-friendly and has plenty of well-stocked poop bag stations. Plentiful parking; good restaurants nearby; ocean across the street. "

"Parking is key here, since the Castro is so close, and parking is a high comodity. When I checked out I mentioned I was going for breakfast and then shopping in the Castro and the clerk generously offered to let me keep my car in the parking lot while I went into the Castro. This is a perfect place to say and have access to this historic district and the parking is just a cherry on that sundae!"

"The kitchenette was weird. Utensils were 3 butter knives, 1 spatula, one pair of tongs and that was it. They could have easily added some disposable forks and spoons in the drawer or something. But three butter knives only ? That's weird. Also they're checking system is fully remote and over a kiosk to someone in South Asia and it is not only tedious and horrible in its efficiency but it is the reason I will probably never go back. This is my fourth day with him over the years the last Tuesdays have been horrible because it is stupid kiosk system. Mark my words they will never have repeat customers because of this. It is crap."

"Stains on top bed cover. Housekeeping doesn't come to clean room when we were out. No hair dryer, ironing board or iron."

"This little motel is located in a quiet area very close to the beach. There were also few cute shops and eateries within walking distance. The staff were friendly and able to get us our rooms early after east coast flight arrivals. The rooms were spacious and I really appreciated the skylight in the bathroom on the top floor and peek of the sea from my room. The large windows were perfect although light sleepers might find it challenging with the sound of the trolley on the street below. All in all it was a lovely stay at what felt like a cute family hotel by the sea. "
