Top Lake Meredith National Recreation Area Hotel Reviews
The Big Texan Motel
6/10 Okay
"It’s kind of an iconic place to stay, but it’s definitely seemed better days. My bed squeaked, the bathroom was small and the walls had obviously had some damage and been repaired"
"Continental breakfast was only cold items or waffle, no cleaning during the day, had to get our own clean towels at front desk, cabinet drawers in room would not stay closed, bathroom needed updating, blinds covering door broken "
"Route 66 Inn, what a great stop! A true Rt 66 treasure. Our room was spacious, clean, friendly staff. Area was very safe and clean.. we’d give it a 10 of 10. "
"Hotel needs some TLC. We’ve stayed there many times over the years and were disappointed by the lack of quality maintenance. Icky, half-assed fixes show how little is invested in this property. Day manager and breakfast food were fine. Evening clerk has a friend in a broken down car sitting at the front door for hours. Kind of off putting but she was a good clerk. "
"Sleeping in a Covered Wagon in Texas is a pretty cool experience we absolutely loved it! one word of caution though if you are a light sleeper it can be very noisy at night with I-40 right beside us and train tracks on the other side, and low flying planes overhead. It didnt bother me a bit and I will definitely be back!"
"This hotel was good for the price that I paid! It might not be the best room in all of Borger, but at least the room was clean and comfortable! It would’ve been nice to get advance notice that the pool was closed during my visit, but I didn’t get that, and I was bummed when I found out that it was closed. However, the overwhelming friendliness of the mostly bilingual staff more than made up for what the hotel lacked! I will consider coming back here next time I return to visit my friends!"
