"The property is an old building and we both thought that the rooms could do with a bit of an update - the bathrooms were very modern. The rooms and hotel were spotless, the staff were absolutely superb - so kind, helpful and polite.
It was a lovely idea to have free bottles of water at reception when we arrived with the weather being hot. We thought that the room would benefit from AirCon although we did receive a fan which helped a bit.
As I say, the staff are wonderful - particularly the waiting on staff during breakfast and the reception staff. We thought that the breakfast was brilliant and very tasty but the restaurant was pricey so we ate out. We didn't really like the pizza that we had from the bar either but food is a subjective thing.
We had a lovely restful weekend - spa treatments were nice - especially the scalp massage and the pool was lovely. Afternoon tea was ok but we've had nicer.
We would definitely visit again in the future - thank you to everyone for a lovely weekend and the beautiful breakfast and helpful staff and clean rooms!"
