"Very pleasant place to stay."

"Well presented clean room on the ground floor with excellent facilities. Food and drink excellent. Staff were incredibly helpful with any queries, we felt like one of the family. I have never commented on any other survey before this, so must have have made a very big impression ! Thank you and congratulations to your staff Matt our stay with you was wonderful. "We had ensuite with a bath which was lovely. The room was very clean and the continental breakfast was very generous. Our room overlooked the park and the river which we really enjoyed, the busy road at night not so much but that's because we are not used to it, it was warm and we needed to keep the windows open which let in more noise. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. There are stairs everywhere so if you have limited mobility this could be an issue. There are ground floor...

"There are no useful amenities and the ones advertised aren’t really: the bar is a desk that never seems to be open no draft beer etc. the swimming pool was locked up with a comdnation lock that we were not given the code to on arrival and the nearest pub is 30 minutes away over fields however it was a very nice pub to eat & drink. When we arrived there was no one there and the door to the reception was not opened until 16:00 on the dot by the receptionist who was in there all along."

"This is a supposedly high end hotel charging an exorbitant amount of money on the basis of its riverside location but failing to deliver on the basics such as cleanliness, maintenance and managerial oversight. We arrived 18 minutes before the stated check in time of 1500; on asking if the room was ready a very loud receptionist informed me in no uncertain terms that check in was at 1500. I suggested we did the paperwork by which time it was 12 minutes before check in but she would not budge on...

"Staff were lovely. Check in was good. Although couldn’t book us in any earlier & we were attending an event which was a shame. But no huge issue. Parking superb Bathroom lovely. We stayed in Sariska room which is on the front of the building. Being a Saturday night stay - it was a tad noisey & nothing to do with the hotel. But some car with a loud exhaust drive up & down quite a lot during the early night. We closed the windows to block it out but then as we’ve had this hot weather the room...

"Breakfast poor, no free parking"

"We usually stay here when in Cambridge. I think this was our first visit under new ownership. The place was great as usual. The staff were friendly but clearly stretched too thinly. We waited in the bar for service and eventually went elsewhere. The wait for breakfast to arrive was around 40 mins. It proved difficult even getting clean cutlery. When asked about our stay at checkout, we mentioned the slow service but got no response or enquiry suggesting it was a well recognised problem."

"We really enjoyed our visit, liked the hotel which had a cosy friendly atmosphere. Clare was particularly helpful when our television would not work, she made two visits to our room to resolve the matter to our satisfaction. Clare was also very chatty and friendly when we had other queries, a valuable asset to the hotel."

"Could not find a fault, from the welcoming of the reception staff and the efficiency of all staff members. A special thanks to the lovely lady on reception who bought me some slippers when I'd forgotten to pack a pair of shoes (laugh) to the lovely breakfast waitress - all found time to smile and have a conversation.
