"Beautiful and charming hotel in the heart of Fontainebleau. We booked the 2 bedroom suite and stayed with 2 adults 2 teens. There was lots of room for everyone. The main bedroom had 1 king and the second had 2 twin. The bathroom had a bathtub with a separate shower and a separate toilet room. We had a small balcony which was really cute as well! The hotel is across the street from the Chateau Fontainebleau and is surrounded by lots of cute restaurants and bakeries. Would definitely stay here again!"
Demeures de campagne Château de Fontainebleau – Mercure
8/10 Good
"This Hotel is nicely maintained and has a good attention to detail. Examples of this being the cold water dispenser in the lobby. The pool area is perfect with a good mix of shade and sun and really refreshing in the summer.
The staff are fantastic and the bar serves drinks nicely. Our room was okay though in need of a few updates but we did have a basic class room. They have more modernised bathrooms in the higher class of room which could be worth the money. The bed is large and comfortable. The curtains black the room out well.
One thing that is great in the room is a smart TV that actually works properly and doesn't have half its features disabled. Very nice feature when you are from abroad.
My only complaint is the restaurant which I wouldn't recommend. The setting is lovely but the menu is very limited, and there is no lunch menu for cheaper lunchtime options. It's over priced and trying to serve fancier food but without the quality to back up the price. We ordered a steak which was small and not cooked to order. When I sent it back they got closer on a 2nd attempt but still didn't seem cooked to medium rare properly. The steak also didn't feel high quality to me. No simpler options like a burger or a pizza. It's not awful but feels like missed potential and I think there are better options out the hotel.
Would highly recommend this hotel!"
"Small and directly on the main city center street area and I enjoyed walking to the local restaurants and shopping. Staff here were exceptionally helpful. They go out of their way to help you. Saturday night street activity was heard from the room. No AC but a good fan. Parking was safe, off site and about a 3 minute walk."
