"To be clear, I base this on the north american standards I am used to. The front desk staff was not very welcoming or friendly, however check in was fairly quick. The code for the internet was posted on a sign at the front desk and when i asked about it, he said to take a picture. The internet only worked in the lobby or the bar...not in the rooms. We went to order a pizza and were told we cant place a call from our room. They did dial the number from the front desk for us. The pool and outside bar area were lovely!! Nice to sit up there and have a drink in the warm air. There is a $46 charge on my credit card (on top of the room charge) that might be some sort of tourist tax??? I have no clue as it was not explained. The room was clean and functional and we were only there one night so it suited our needs. It is dated and felt cramped, but we did have a small table and chairs that we appreciated. I felt the price we paid was too high for what we got, but again, used to hotels in Canada and the US."

"Room was clean and comfortable. Bed was a little firm and lotion in the bathroom would've been a nice amenity. The staff were always very attentive, helpful and friendly. Included breakfast and dinner made this stay an excellent value and food was tasty with much variety. The layout and greenery on the grounds give it a warm, welcoming and relaxing vibe. The compound is also quiet and this contributed to a relaxed atmosphere for vacationing"

"We loved our stay at Hotel French Coco from the warm welcome to our own private plunge pool. The staff were very accommodating and kind and the gardens were beautiful (we saw many species of birds during our stay). The breakfasts were delicious with a good variety of options (although I mistakenly though that « breakfast included » covered the cooked options as well). The hotel is within five minutes of a beautiful, natural beach and several different options for meals. We also enjoyed the proximity to the beautiful hike around the peninsula- highly recommend! One small point is that the sound does travel between rooms so if you are a light sleeper, it’s a good idea to have some ear plugs. "

"I was fortunate to get a pool-view room, and it was truly beautiful. The location is excellent — walking distance to the beach, with convenient stores nearby, making the stay easy and relaxed. The room was clean, comfortable, and peaceful. One of the highlights was hearing the sound of the ocean from the balcony. Birds would come and quietly share the table with us — unexpected little visitors that made the experience feel special and connected to nature. The hotel has great potential to grow. The pool is lovely, and the overall environment is soothing and restorative. However, there are areas that need improvement. The front desk staff did not speak English or Spanish, and when I asked about the spa that is advertised, I was told they don’t have one. Once in the room, we also had to request body wash, which should already be provided. Because of these details, I wouldn’t classify this as a 4-star hotel at the moment. I would give it 3 stars, with the hope that small improvements could elevate the experience significantly."
