"A wonderful stay from start to finish."

"The room was ok however the bathroom had black mould in the shower grouting and the seal around the glass shower panel was dirty The bathroom inner frame was dirty /mouldy and looked to be starting to rot When we opened the inner window/secondary glazing there was cobwebs in between the frames There seemed to be a problem with housekeeping as there was a delay in checking in as the room was not ready We stayed 2 nights and the next day the housekeeping was cursory and also delayed We will not be staying again despite the very pleasant young staff"

"This is such a special place - the accommodation is charming, comfy and convenient, the spa facilities are SPECIAL, staff are lovely and helpful and the food was great. It's a true indie place within striking distance of many great walks, and equally a fab place just to chill and unwind. Gorgeous and so well looked after."

"Hotel is in a great location - just over 15 minute walk to the train station, close to shops and the Cathedral - looks like the downstairs has been elegantly renovated. Beautiful newly-refurbished bedroom, with some really thoughtful extra touches - such as a rubber bathmat and handrail, electric fan, suitcase stand, and biscuits every day with the tea and coffee. I liked being able to open the window. Some of the staff seemed less friendly and professional than one would expect - however, generally the staff were o.k. and two of the younger reception staff (a young man and young woman), both with dark hair, were both pleasant and helpful. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel, as there were plenty of cafes and Bill's Kitchen (in All Saints Church) in the same street and close by."

"Car park is small and shared with the riverside cafe so can be full when you need to park. Bar area, eating area ok also good selection of beers. Accommodation is upstairs and it wasn't until the evening until noticed a problem. The rooms look out directly onto the outdoor roof terrace. If you wanted to open your window you would have people sat right outside of it!!. You had to close the window curtain/blind for privacy. No chance of getting sleep as the extremely loud drunken guests frequenting the pub/hotel come and go until closing time. Room extremely hot, fan provided so little sleep between this and the loud drunken guests on the roof terrace. Food don't bother unless you want a burger and that is all you will get. Breakfast is extra and charged at £10 and not the best quality. For starters not butchers sausage, bacon wafer thin. Not worth the money. On plus side staff at bar helpful and could not be faulted when checking in. Room was clean and large. Would not recommend or stay again."
