"AVOID THIS HOTEL — unless you’re looking for a hotel full of dogs! My partner and I stayed here for two nights for a business trip and unfortunately had a terrible experience. Our room was not clean at all. There was dog hair, marks and stains on the carpet, dirty facilities, a water jug that hadn’t been cleaned properly, a kettle full of limescale and marks on the bedding. "Second time me and my wife have stayed at the white lion and it was no different to the first excellent place to stay clean room and great staff the only down side was the so called Indian restaurant sea spice very disappointing because it's not a genuine Indian restaurant. I think it's the only one in aldeburgh so I can see why people have to go there but it's not the real thing."

"On the plus side the housekeeper was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was beautifully tiled but the fittings were not working as they should. "Lovely hotel in a great location. Friendly staff and very clean. Good value for money. Beds and rooms were small and breakfast service slow (but we were warned of this beforehand!). We had city view rooms and they were nicer than we expected, as there was a field and partial sea view anyway.
