"A lovely comfortable bed in the room. It was nice and clean and the hotel was very quiet, despite other guests and diners there. The breakfast was delicious the next morning and the staff were so friendly and polite throughout our stay. Would highly recommend. A great place to stay and eat"

"Clean room. Toilet seat needs repairing. No Air con and no fans supplied in our room, Only Air con in reception only half working Could do with being dragged into 21st century. Needs decorating urgently. Car parking should be free. But handy for meeting in the city"

"The location is excellent - so close to the castle and cathedral. There are two very good real ale pubs just down the road and plenty of restaurants nearby. We were lucky enough to get free parking the whole of the week. The weather was hot, so air-conditioning would have been nice, although its a listed building so probably a challenge."

"Grayz Studio was perfect. I’d visited the tea room before, but never knew this lovely place was just upstairs. It was a lovely place to be, whether for wandering around Steep Hill, or for getting breakfast downstairs and staying in to work. Clean, sunny, well-appointed—and a giant welcome scone when I arrived! Thanks for a marvelous stay. 10/10 will stay again."

"Great hotel, great location, great facilities (including their own carpark). The staff were excellent and extremely helpful and our room was more like a suite, with 2 pairs of veranda doors. My only slight disappointment was the breakfast. I had a full English and I’d obviously been cooked 15 minutes previously and kept under hot plate. "For our 4 night stay everything was good. Our room was spacious clean and comfortable. We didn't eat in the hotel as we had catering at the FOCUS festival in Newark. The staff were cheerful and helpful. Our only gripe was that the lift was out of order for the whole 4 days, so we had a bit of a climb to the 2nd floor."

"Staff were very friendly and welcoming, particularly at breakfast where they were chatty making a very welcoming experience. The rooms were lovely and clean. I had no issues at all during my stay. "No parking facility for single room occupancy was inconvenient and had to leave car in a nearby exposed housing estate and walk back. Check-in was confusing with key boxes on the wall for each room, but access is via the key coded digital front door lock. The hidden digital locks on the room door handles can be confusing for new arrivals. Room was basic and very noisy at street level, with only wooden blinds that let light in.
