The Signature Level At Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"Really enjoyed our stay! The staff were excellent; both professional and friendly Loved our room and the staff left a lovely towel decoration every night! Views were beautiful with a number of activities. Restaurants were nice. The spa was awesome! The only negative is that the food was good, not spectacular. Would highly recommend!"
"Our stay at Princess Resorts was very disappointing. Housekeeping woke us up 2.5 hours before checkout, banging and yelling despite the “do not disturb” light being on.
Service at the Jamaica Food Market was also poor. While waiting for a table, I asked to wait for my family, but the hostess (Sonya) refused and pressured me to go in alone with an unwelcoming attitude.
Although check-in was 3 PM, we didn’t settle until 4 PM and were told the water park closes at 5 PM. After a 7-hour flight and 1-hour shuttle, we decided to go try the food truck at 4:30 PM, but it was already closed and out of food. We were told the ice cream shop was 24 hours, but ice cream stops at midnight.
Kids’ amenities are limited. The game room is restricted (13+ and 18+), excluding my younger 7 and 11 yea old. The sports bar food was low quality. We saw they offered karaoke so tried to go do that but was told that kids aren’t allowed after 8 PM. That’s left us with nothing to do.
Drinks tasted watered down unless you had a specific wristband, which wasn’t explained. We also dealt with reservation issues between Expedia and the resort, so my mom was overcharged by an additional person. They wouldn’t offer a refund or accomodation.
The room had standing shower water and a sewage smell. Dining is limited to short restaurant hours, with buffets as the main option otherwise, and room service costs extra.
Only positives were the Bob Marley show and jerk chicken. We would not return."
"The property was amazing, lots of options for food (overall food was just OK, nothing great) bars, pools, coffee. Rooms were super nice and clean, great views. Pool areas and bars were spectacular & plenty of room on private beach to hang out. The main issue was the staff at the bars, buffets and around the pool. Many staff were unfriendly and did not attempt to go out of their way to make sure guest were being served and having a good time. Many staff seemed like they were being bothered when you asked for a drink and/or to order food. Everyday at the breakfast buffet we were never offered refills of water or coffee. When we went to ask for more we were assured someone would bring them to us, but it never happened. We been to many all inclusive resorts and this was overall the least friendly staff we have encountered. The resort itself was amazing, but the staff itself took away from the overall experience you get from and all-inclusive resorts."
"All the staff except for front desk was very helpful and sweet.
Housekeeping informed us on day 1 that the spare key to our room was lost so she couldn’t clean our room. It took 4 days of asking at front desk and finally tracking down management ourselves to solve the issue. They compensated us with a free meal which was very appreciated. Front desk staff ignored our requests to copy our key for housekeeping. To me, front desk is a weak link in the chain of customer service here. Otherwise, amazing location, peaceful beach (yes, Jamaicans are always offering things for sale on the beach, but I understand they’re just trying to make a living after a devastating hurricane. Also, it was convenient to get patties and juice and fruit on the beach). The pool is well maintained. The food is decent. The rate is good. The beds are very, very firm. Too firm for me. Other people may like that. There are no hooks or towel racks in the bathroom. An odd thing to be missing in a hotel. All around 3.5/5"
"Travellers Beach Resort is right on the beach with an excellent chef and bar staff and very friendly crew. My partner and I had a super relaxing time for our five night stay. Our only criticisms are with inconsistent housekeeping. Our bed was not always fully made, bathroom toiletries never restocked (one small shower gel, shampoo and conditioner doesn’t get far between two people over five nights) and coffee cups left dirty. There was also no duvet cover. It didn’t ruin our stay by any means nor make us not recommend the place, just small things that can be improved. Oh and if you like cats, there’s at least five that live here!"
Azul Beach Resort Negril, Gourmet All Inclusive by Karisma
8/10 Good
"Clean room, although we had to change rooms in the middle of our two week stay. There were limited clean towels available in the morning but a staff members would come by in the afternoon and offer to secure us some. The beach was the highlight of the trip but my husband had to wake up at 4 am to go out and out our stuff on a chair to have a spot secured on the beach and even after all that we would wake up at 7 and come out to the lifeguards moving our stuff for people who would tip them for a spot. We went from april 3-15 (Easter and carnival) a busy time but the grill restaurant was only open once during this time and the Thai, and italian were on a rotating basis. This listing is a bit deceptive because it mentions 4 or more restaurants but really there are 2 buffets in the morning, a few places open during the day and the 3 restaurants rotate their closing with no communication to guests. You could literally walk across the resort and get to the Italian restaurant only to find out it’s not open and now you have to walk all the way back to the other end. I saw the pools being cleaned by lifeguards and skimmed in the morning but the pool by the lacklustre lobby and the pool by the water rental place were never clean. There were many memorable staff that helped with issues whenever they could but there was definitely a miss communication with work orders taking a while to fill. Shout out to Vesper, Amelia, Kevon, Odette, Latoya, Sparkles, Jermaine, TT, and "
