"Excellent room, we had an executive suite and the view was marvellous as was the huge four poster bed. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best we've had, proper cumberland sausages - what can I say!. Staff were also excellent especially Joanne the manager who went above and beyond to make our 4 night stay very enjoyable. We had 2 meals in the hotel pub and again the food was of a very high standard, one meal was a sunday roast which I found absolutely superb. Will definitely stay here...

We enjoyed a very nice evening meal but were disappointed there was no hot drinks available afterwards. Not easy to park for larger vehicles."

"Our room, on the first floor, was excellent with lovely views. The food was of a high quality and the service was very good except on one of our three evenings when we were forgotten about and it took at least three complaints to get our meal started. On this occasion we were in the restaurant for about two hours and it took 45 minutes before we got our starter. This was a shame because otherwise everything was perfect."

"Beautiful accommodation in a stunning setting. Breakfast was 5 star! Lots of choice and presented perfectly. Our double room was very clean with en suite and quality toiletries. Tea/coffee and biscuit were replenished daily. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, with lots of local advice - we couldn’t have chosen a better guest house for our Lake District break.
